Stimulating the Wider participation of European Enterprises To the SME specific

Objective

The main SWEETS objective is to stimulate make aware and strengthen the participation of industrial SMEs within the 5th FP and increase the technological level in firms of traditional industrial sectors by means of promoting Community opportunities and assistance to SMEs in addressing technological and organisational problems. The SWEETS will pursue the modernisation of traditional sectors by exploiting the use of new technologies for the improvement of the quality of products and processes as new methods of organising production processes. Targets will be SMEs with no or very few research capabilities, approached with direct contacts and visits and assisting in establishing European partnership and in submitting new projects. So as to be as efficient as possible, this action will last 30 months and will assist the SMEs from the time of their initial idea to the submission of at least 75 new proposals.
