Technological Intelligence for MEchanics network

Objective

The proposal is submitted by a consortium of 7 partners, all specialised in R&D assistance, promotion of innovation, technology transfer and internationalisation (all host an Innovation Relay Centre, three of them also a National Contact Point or a regional NCP). The aim is to improve competitiveness of SMEs through the participation in the "Growth" Programme in the mechanics sector, one of the most important for Europe, characterised by a wide diffusion of family based micro-companies, often subcontractors. Thus, this sector will strongly benefit from a wider participation in the 5th FP. Another objective is to valorise expertise present at regional level by promoting technological and economic synergies and transnational collaboration among SMEs. The construction of a mechanics network on the Web will facilitate this task. The expected results are 35-40 RTD EC proposals submitted and 250 companies involved in the mechanics network.
