Cluster for Electronic Trading Systems, Transaction Management, Brokerage and Negotiation

Objective

The TRANSACT project has the following objectives: 1.Survey and structure activities and results from IST R&D projects in the area of Electronic Transactions. 2. Support collaboration both across the Net and through workshops. 3. Disseminate results and publication of the cluster and individual projects. 4. Support the Commission by providing a survey on trends and developments in the R&D area. 5. Utilise a virtual collaboration tool that support knowledge and content creation and management. It is the overall objective of TRANSACT to accelerate the speed of collaboration and dissemination of IST results.

The content-oriented WPs can be chronologically ordered according to the three main tasks of the project and to the information flow between them: 1. Survey & Synergy: the structuring of the cluster's projects and domains is the subject of the task. 2.Collaboration: lessons learned and results will be a feedback to the clustered projects. 3.Commission Support. This is an external feedback action that provides the Commission with results and proposals that come up under the clustering activities. 4. Dissemination and publications: in this case, the public is the receiver of cluster results. A Project Documentation Repository will be developed that serves as as basis for open discussion and critical feedback mechanism on all relevant projects contributions. TRANSACT will invite members from different domains such as former active participants in the 4th Framework transaction cluster (30 projects), new projects that fall under the domain of TRANSACT, representatives from other clusters accompanying research institutes such as JRCs, and other companies or individuals that prove to support the clustering goals and activities.
