The Virtual Man

Objective

The actual benefit will be a Software Developer Kit enabling the introduction of virtual autonomous or semi-autonomous characters in virtual environment. The SDK core classes for animating and controlling characters will include functions such as:
- motion capture animation with retargeting and blending
- the physics based animation module
- order to action module which is a set of solvers including path planning
- the conversational system with voice controlling and feedback.

The SDK delivery includes a programming guide with commented examples of use. A demonstration and two applications are developed with this SDK. The testbed demonstration enables to use different commands (go there, sit, kick, etc.) while an example of film storyboarding and an escape demonstration relative to the building domain. This two last software will be developed by users to assess the toolkit possibilities along the project.
