EU-China IST initiative in the field of e-commerce and e-work

Objective

e-EUCHINA is an accompanying measure of the KA II "Electronic Commerce and New Methods of work" of the IST programme targeted at promotion of co-operation between the EU and Chinese companies. The consortium consists of SchlumbergerSema (Spain), Helios (UK) and Beijing Software Industry Association (China).

The project objectives are:
.to promote scientific and technological collaboration between the EU and China in the field of electronic commerce and new methods of work;
.to inform the Chinese IT professionals about the IST programme of the European Commission and its objectives;
.to stimulate emergence of joint collaborative projects funded by the EU and Chinese scientific funding programmes.

The activities include:
- An international e-EUCHINA conference devoted to e-commerce and e-work will be organised under the umbrella of the EC and IST programme in particular. The conference Proceedings will be produced;
- a Trend Mapping study will be developed, which will identify the state of e-commerce and e-work in China. The preliminary findings will be presented at the conference. The follow-ups of the conference will be included into the final version of the study.

- The project will also result in an established informative reference Web-site, which will disseminate information about the project activities and partnerships opportunities in the EU and China.

The e-EUCHINA conference is a part of the series of conferences organised by the European Commission in China and is linked to the EUROCHINA 2001 Co-operation Forum.
