IMPROVEMENT OF THE KNOWLEDGE IN THE EFQM EXCELLENCE MODEL SELF-ASSESSMENT FOR TEXTILE AND TOY INDUSTRY

Objective

The proposed project has the general objective of improving the knowledge about EFQM standards and Total Quality Management of professionals working in SME's of the toy and textile sectors by developing specific training course and through the validation of technologies and knowledge for starting in the continuous improvement process with the aim to increase the competitiveness through the improvement of the Quality and its management and results, based on technologies used by large companies of other industrial sectors in different countries.L
OBJECTIVES
The development of this proposal will contribute to the scientific and technological objectives described below:
- To develop innovative capacities of the textile and toy SMEs;
- To promote the Information Society Technologies in small companies from Spain and France. We expect that at the final of the project more than 60% of the companies of textile and toy companies in the two countries will know the IST;
- To promote the increase of knowledge in Excellence Quality Model for the staff in SMEs of both textile and toy sector. We expect that at the final of the project more than 30% of the companies of textile and toy sector in the three countries (Spain, France and Germany) will start implementing the Excellence Quality Model;
- To promote the training of young people in EFQM Model Excellence;
- To validate the GOA-EFQM (Group Opinion Analyser - European Foundation of Quality Management Model of Excellence) Technology, already being used by large companies of other sectors in the SMEs.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
1.- The Textile and Toy Research Centres in Spain and France (AITEX, AIJU and IFTH) will act as a intermediaries in the training complementary action. During the first stage (WP1), the rechnology centres will be entrusted with defining the training needs. During the second stage tey will develop and adapt a Multimedia Training Course in Excellenece Model for Textile and Toy sector and will validate the GOA-EFQM Technology. IBK will support the complementary training action;
2.- The pilot demonstration of this training action will be carried out by the textile and toy companies of the Consortium. Along with this activity, an analysis of non technical aspects will be carried out;
3.- Simustaneosly with the demosntrations (see Gantt chart), a wide-range diffusion process will get underway vis-a-vis the target companies;
4.- The Technology Centres will play an active role in the regional diffusion of the training action using the experience of the IKEMSATT project so as to be able to duplicate it at a later phase in other sectors and regions, as well as supporting the research and organisational aspects. IBK, general member of EFQM and technology provider, will collaborate with the Technology Centres in the promotion of the GOA-EFQM Technology and in the organisation of the Workshops.
