Exploitation, Promotion and Support for Integrated Machine Vision

Objective

This project is an accompanying measure to promote the uptake and exploitation of an innovative new technology (integrated machine vision) to make European business more competitive. This measure accompanies EUTIST-IMV (IST-1999-20188)which is a cluster of Take-UP actions with a common theme of machine vision. This accompanying measure will promote the results of EUTIST-IMV through a series of focussed dissemination and exploitation actions. Best practice for dissemination has been established by earlier IST activities, and this will be applied in the proposed work. OBJECTIVES
The objectives of EXPANSIV are:
The objectives of the EXPANSIV project are:
- To raise awareness among potential new end-users and exploiters of the benefits of integrated machine vision (IMV);
- To be the bridge between technology suppliers and those who will deploy technology;
- To encourage wide uptake of technology across EUTIST-IMV cluster;
- To identify and fully exploit synergies between the activities in EUTIST-IMV;
- To ensure the wide deployment of IMV best practice throughout European industry;
- To stimulate and broaden the technology transfer activities of the IMV-NET partners.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The proposed work is an Accompanying Measure in support of the EUTIST-IMV(Project 20188) (European Take-up of Essential Information Society Technologies -Integrated Machine Vision Cluster). The objective of this Accompanying Measure is to ensure the widespread promotion, creation of awareness and early uptake of results from EUTIST-IMV. EUTIST-IMV is a cluster of Trial actions with a common theme of Integrated Machine Vision. It started on 1st October 2000. Currently there are sixteen Trials in this cluster, and it is anticipated that this will grow to 20-25.The number of organisations currently involved in EUTIST-IMV is 60, and this will be expected to grow to between 70 -100.The workplan consists of the following elements:
- Market research to identify, segment and characterise the target audience;
- Production and distribution of dissemination material;
- Proactive dissemination at exhibitions, trade fairs and workshops;
- Follow-up activities such as visits to companies. The participants will work closely with other EC supported initiatives and with chambers of commerce and industrial associations.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
