LexVR is an application that can assists curators, instructional designers and educators to build 3D virtual environments of Learning Objects. Differently from most common CAD software, the developed application offers an intuitive and easy to use graphical user interface also for non-expert users, to position (translate, rotate or zoom) different media objects (2D images, 3D models, videos and text) in the virtual environment (see next figure) and associate to each object of the scene educational material like PDF, videos, images or other learning objects. 3D virtual environments can include virtual museums and galleries as well as other virtual scenes (industrial environments, offices, operating theatres ¿) and offer an interactive learning experience following e-learning standards like IEEE LOM, IMS Content Package and ADL SCORM. Functionality includes evaluation of sessions (based on the IMS QTI specifications) and tracking of end-user actions based on the ADL SCORM specification. Created virtual environments can be easily exported to any Learning Management System (LMS) e-learning standard compliant for the re-use of the learning objects embedded in the scene.
