Objective
The progressive spread of solar architecture is increasing the demand for suitable windows. The aim of the research-project is the development of an adaptable window-system for various situations (orientation of the facade, climate zone, wind exposure), which makes possible an optimisation of the energy gain through the window as part of a solar facade. Heat insulation, protection against the sun and ventilation control should be specifically alterable by the integration of variable elements (like special roller blinds, daylighting elements, ventilation elements) into the window to meet the seasonally changing requirements. The new window-system contributes to the development of higher standards for windows moreover the cooperation of companies from several countries would lead to a faster market penetration of these standards.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
