A new polymer electrolyte for increasing the electrode utilisation, energy and power density and reducing charge time in lithium-ion-batteries

Objective



It is the purpose of this research proposal to investigate the use of solid polymer electrolytes with immobilised, charge delocalised anions in lithium-ion batteries and lithium polymer batteries for increasing the current density and electrode utilisation. The research is needed in order to identify the most suitable anions for the task considering charge delocalisation, stability against reduction and oxidation and dissociation of the ion pair. The influence of the composition of the selected anion/polymer systems on ionic conductivity and mechanical properties will be analysed.
