Objective
A plant meant for total conversion of liquid organic waste into energy, liquid fertilizer and pure water is being designed by the main proposer, Bioscan A/S. The plant is producing energy via a biogas process based on a detailed knowledge of the operation of membrane reactors enhancing the anaerobic digestion substantially which form an important part of the biogas process. Utilisation of ultrahitration membranes in the digester design enables the efEcient use thereafter of a novel stripper design, transfomming ammonia and dissolved carbondioxide in the effluent from the digester process into a concentrated fertilizer and leaving the effluent from this process ready for a concentration by means of RO membranes that will convert the residue into pure water and a brine rich in phosphate, potassium and other important nutrient salts for plant growth. The whole plant can be built in a compact fomm easing transportation from production to place of utilization.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
