DEVELOPMENT AND TEST OF A
STIRLING PUMPING UNIT UTILIZING RENEWEABLE ENERGY
THE AIM OF THE PROJECT IS THE COMPARATIVE TEST OF A NOVEL SOLAR THERMAL PUMPING UNIT AND A PHOTOVOLTAIC PUMPING SYSTEM. EXPERIENCE AND A COMPREHENSIVE PERFORMANCE DATA SET ABOUT THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE STIRLING ENGINE UNDER LABORATORY AND UNDER FIELD CONDITIONS SHALL BE COLLECTED AND CONSCTION IMPROVEMENTS SHALL BE OBTAINED. AFTER OPTIMIZATION AND ADAPTATION THE THERMAL PUMPING SYSTEM WILL BE SUBJECTED TO LONG TERM TESTS SYSTEM WILL BE COMPETITIVE WITH A PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM MAINLY FOR THE USE IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES, WITH RESPECT TO ENERGY YIELD, LONG TERM PERFORMANCE AND COST FIGURES.
