Objective
To organize, carry out and analyze the results from the measurement programmes for the three wind turbines in the WEGA programme in such a way, that a maximum of information can be obtained in a coordinated action between the WEGA projects. At the same time a uniform database will be created with the aim of facilitating later research, carried out by third party researchers.
Project organization.
The project will be carried out in cooperation between the large scale wind turbine owners UNION FENOSA, POWERGEN and VESTKRAFT.
ELSAMPROJEKT will coordinate the action. Each participant will report on the progress of his project at contractors meetings which will be convened by the commission.
Data analysis.
The following investigations will be performed:
- Power curve sensitivity analysis, based on variations in wind direction, turbulence intensity, yaw error and precipitation.
- Wind energy potential and power production as a function of wind direction.
- Statistics on operation and maintenance costs.
- Structural response and design load verification, as a function of wind speed, wind direction and turbulence intensity.
- Structural response and design load verification, as a function of wind speed, wind direction and gustiness.
- Structural response on control activities e.g. power regulation.
- Aerodynamic response of rotor to pitch angle changes.
Reporting
The WEGA contractors shall prepare all reports from studies, performed on their respective wind turbines, under this contract. The reports shall be made according to a common template report for each subject prepared by the project coordinator in cooperation with the contractors.
Data standardization and common terminology.
For data based on 10-minutes statistics this has already been carried out in a previous EC project (ORSP). For time series similar activities will be organized by the project coordinator. All time series delivered by the WEGA contractors to the Commission shall be delivered in a common file format. The file format and terminology will be specified by the project coordinator in cooperation with the contractors.
Final report.
The project coordinator will prepare a final report, based on the reports form the WEGA contractors, for the project.
