Objective
a) The preparation of a book, to be provided in camera-ready form, on the CEC Wind Power Penetration Study which preceded the present Integration Study (Contract JOUR-0022). This will require the study of the national documents, study of the coordination documents and the drawing of conclusions on a European level based on these documents where appropriate.
b) Outline studies into the cogeneration of wind with other renewables. This will include consideration of demand side measures, and will be coordinated with the DG XII modelling activities on renewable energies.
The European Wind Power Integration Study will be carried out by utilities or utility related companies, representing about 10 European countries. Each utility will study the following subjects:
1. Grid interface
2. System stability
3. The importance of wind predictability
4. Cogeneration of wind with other renewables
5. Wind farm operation and economics
The following activities are included under the proposed contract:
A. Ensuring that the national studies are carried out according to common principles
B. Coordination of the national studies, including contractors' meetings etc
C. Audit of the reports and documents which result from the national studies
D. Study of the national document and the drawing of conclusions on a European level based these documents where appropriate
E. The preparation of a final report based on the national studies. This report should be provided in a pre-edited form prior to its possible publication
F. The preparation of a book, to be provided in camera-ready form, on the CEC Wind Power Penetration Study which preceded the present Integration Study. This will require the study of the national documents, study of the coordination documents and the drawing of conclusions on a European level based on these documents where appropriate.
G. Outline studies into the cogeneration of wind with other renewables to extend activity 4 above. This will include consideration of demand side measures, and will be coordinated with the DG XII modelling activities on renewable energies.
