Objective
It is the goal of MOBILE to change the current trend of increased automotive mobility and counteract the environmental burden this trend results in. An effective combination of organisational and consciousness raising/motivating measure should allow for self enhancing mechanism to evolve, which bring about an improvement in the quality of life and of the environment in various areas.
The environmental project MOBILE has developed a new mobility concept for the city of Linz. Motorised individual traffic is the main source of pollution. It is the goal of MOBILE to change the current trend of increased automotive mobility or rather to decelerate this particular trend. An effective combination of organisational and consciousness raising measures should allow for self-enhancing mechanisms to envolve, which signal and support adequate and environmentally conscious mobility behaviour. Six modules should produce a synergistic effect over the next three yars - Modules 3 and 4 will have an even more sustainable impact.
