Objective
TO INCREASE OUR KNOWLEDGE ON THE OPTIMUM CONDITIONS TO BURN RDF AND ORGANIC WASTES IN A FLUIDIZED BED INCINERATOR
THIS WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN A JOINT PROJECT BETWEEN AERIMPIANTI (ANSALDO-GROUP OF ITALY) AND THYSSEN OF GERMANY. THE EXPERIMENTAL FACILITY IS A THYSSEN PILOT PLANT LOCATED IN DUISBURG. THE RESULTS OF THIS PROJECT WILL BE USED TO PROPERLY DESIGN A DEMONSTRATIVE PLANT IN ITALY WHICH WILL BURN RDF PRODUCED BY A MUNICIPAL WASTE SORTING PLANT AND VARIOUS ORGANICS LIKE SLUDGES AND THE MUNICIPAL SOLID ORGANIC WASTE COMPONENT (COMPOST) WHEN IT CAN NOT BE ABSORBED BY THE AGRICULTURAL MARKET.
THE PROJECT WILL BE ARTICULATED IN THE FOLLOWING PHASES:
1.- DEFINITION OF THE EXPERIMENTAL MATRICS AND OVERALL PLANNING
2.- RDF PRODUCTION, TRANSPORT TO THE PILOT PLANT, ORGANIC WASTE PRODUCTION AND TRANSPORT, MIXTURE OF RDF-ORGANIC WASTES
3.- RDF-ORGANIC WASTE CHARACTERIZATION (HEAT VALUE, CHEMICAL COMPOSITION, DENSITY...)
4.- PILOT PLANT ADAPTATION TO BURN LOW DENSITY (FLUFF) RDF
5.- EXPERIMENTS AND MEASUREMENTS AT DIFFERENT OPERATING PROCESS PARAMETERS (TEMPERATURE, LIMESTONE QUANTITY-QUALITY, FLUIDIZATION VELOCITY, EXCESS AIR...)
6.- DATA ANLYSIS AND INTERPRETATION. OPTIMIZATION OF THE VARIOUS OPERATING PARAMETERS. THIS PHASE WILL BE CARRIED OUT IN COLLABORATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF HAMBURG.
