Objective

A) - THE DEFINITION OF BASIC COMPOSITIONS (BI-AG) AND OTHERS WILL BE CARRIED OUT INITIALLY.
SAMPLES OF TRADITIONAL SOFT LEAD WILL BE ANALYSED AND LEAD-CALCIUM ALLOYS BE PREPARED.
B) - EXPERIMENTS ON BASIC LEAD COMPOSITION ARE DIVIDED INTO FOUR PARTS:
1.- COOKSON AND MINEMET RECHERCHE WILL SUPPLY FIRST SPECIFIED OXIDES FOR EXPERIMENT IN LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AND LATER LEAD CALCIUM ALLOYS TO STUDY IN UNIVERSITY OF NANCY AND ALLOYS PLUS OXIDE TO PRODUCE PLATES.
2.- LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY EXPERIMENT OXIDES FROM MINEMET RECHERCHE COOKSON, TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF COMPOSITION TO TEST ON INDUSTRIAL LABORATORY SCALE AT COMPAGNIE EUROPEENNE D'ACCUMULATEURS.
3.- UNIVERSITY OF NANCY EXPERIMENT MICROSTRUCTURAL EVOLUTION OF PB-CA AND PB-CA-SN, FIRST ON PURE LEAD AND BASIC LEAD CONTAINING BI-AG.
4.- COMPAGNIE EUROPEENNE D'ACCUMULATEURS MANUFACTURES PLATES WITH LEAD CALCIUM ALLOYS AND OXIDES OBTAINED WITH BASIC COMPOSITION AND PROVIDED BY COOKSON AND MINEMET RECHERCHE.
C) - RESULTS FROM B) PRECISE THE BI AND AG CONTENT OF SECONDARY LEAD. METALLGESELLSCHAFT AG PRECISE THE VARIOUS ANALYSIS OF SECONDARY LEAD. LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY EXAMINE EFFECT OF VARIOUS TRACE ELEMENTS IN LEAD CONTAINING BI-AG AT CONSTANT LEVELS AND ADDED WITH SEVERAL TRACE ELEMENTS. MINEMET RECHERCHE COOKSON, PRODUCE LEAD CALCIUM ALLOYS AND OXIDES WITH SECONDARY LEAD DEFINED IN B). COMPAGNIE EUROPENNE D'ACCUMULATEURS COMPARE PERFORMANCES OF PLATES MADE WITH OXIDE AND ALLOYS PROVIDED BY MINEMET RECHERCHE.
