Electroacoustic prototype for controlling the behaviour of marine mammals.

Objective

The scientific and technical objectives of this research proposal concern the implementation of an electroacoustic prototype for controlling the behaviour of some species of marine mammals, particularly dolphins, in their natural environment, in order to prevent their mortality and damages to fishing gears. Research is required into the study of the effects of different acoustic signals on the hearing apparatus of dolphins, which needs to be conducted by way of laboratory, dolphinarium and at sea experiments.
