Electric Two-Wheelers on Urban Roads

Objective

Mission Statement: To demonstrate, evaluate and promote the advantages of electric two-wheelers as a substantial contribution to sustainable mobility in urban areas. Based on:
- Introducing and testing of over 1.000 electric two-wheelers in 8 European cities, in order to obtain a modal shift towards two-wheelers, by promoting these new mobility means;
- Promoting and dissemination of the results, as a contribution in preparing large-scale introduction of these vehicles in the market;
- Use of electric bicycles is aimed at increasing driven range of bicycle use and range of user groups;
- Use of electric scooters is aimed at replacing scooters and cars with internal combustion engines;
- To develop, install and test devices facilitating the use of these means;
- To investigate new technologies for alternative two-wheelers and the physiological/bio-ùechanical aspects of power assisted bicycles in relation to lowering the threshold for a relevant part of the citizens (including ageing).
