Objective
The objectives of the project are:
- Provoke public interest in a high profile renewables application;
- Achieve an unprecedented level of photovoltaic panel integration into the building fabric without reducing architectural integrity;
- Contribute towards the European Commission targets of increasing the installed base of renewables and reducing CO2 emissions;
- Encourage the use of renewables in other stadiums world-wide;
- Provide a "green" building as much as is practical;
- Provide base load power for the building -reducing the draw from the grid;
- Demonstrate the viability of "thin film" photovoltaics.
