Objective
The Conference aims at highlighting the relation between research and production activities and the importance of the role played by international co-operation in the fishery sector.
The main objective of the Conference is the identification of sustainable approaches for the fishery management in the Mediterranean area through the discussion of fundamental topics at the presence of research and management experts from most of the Mediterranean Countries. This may contribute to the improvement of active participation by the interested Regions to the decision-making process for the conservation and management of the fishery resources according to the FAO Code of Conduct. Besides, it aims at overcoming the lack of communication between decision-makers and regional partners in the international context of fishery's management.
Finally, the Conference could give a contribution to the development of scientific and technical collaborations that may include further international coordinated research and management.
