Novel plantbased active ingredients and immunostimulants

Objective

Development of a range of new plant-based active ingredients and immunostimulants for aquaculture, to reduce the use of antibiotics especially in fry and fingerlings, as this often results in undesirable environmental effects, side-effects in the organs of the aquatic animals and withdrawal times for consumer products. There are already novel results of pectin, combining immunostimulation and anti-diarrhoea effects, a new micropellet delivery system with feeding attractants, but the SMEs wish to develop a CRAFT proposal to research more prospective substances.
