Objective
To address the problem of bay closures due to Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB) and the resultant loss of revenue to fish farms as well as the loss of product on the market.
This proposal is intended to examine the feasibility of using naturally filtered sea water to:
(1) Hold shellfish during an HAB,
(2) Purify toxic shellfish,
(3) Act as a bacterial depuration source.
