Identification of vulnerable plaques in human coronary arteries to prevent acute coronary syndromes

Objective

Sudden rupture of a vulnerable plaque is the initial mechanism behind acute coronary syndromes. Early detection is necessary to prevent this event. It could be achieved by the proposed combined method of elastography and shear stress measurement.
