National and international networking of novel approaches for studies on atherosclerosis (ATHERNET)

Objective

Main objective of the project to build up a national and international network in the field of novel approaches in atherosclerosis research by taking ongoing bilateral cooperation more effective. The project will facilitate connections between the Hungarian Centre and four EU centers, the Centre will extend its activity by organizing prospective studies in Hungarian institutions, long-term visit of Hungarian PhD students is supported, young researchers are attracted. In order to achieve the objectives, Hungarian PhD students will be trained in these centers, methods used there will be introduced in the Hungarian Centre, coordinating workshops and an international conference will be organized. Results of the collaborative network will be presented at international conferences. Since morbidity in atherosclerotic vascular diseases is among the highest in Hungary, the results are important as for the social needs of the country.
