Role of facilitators proteins in the long range regulation of the human beta globin locus.

Objective

Previously the focus of my research has been on the identification of regulatory elements in a relatively simple gene locus by DNaseI sensitivity and transgene assays. It is a natural progression from the identification of cis regulatory elements to the characterisation of factors that bind to them and to determine how such factors can bring about the remodelling of chromatin and activation of genes. The host laboratory is one of the leading research groups in the field and the expertise present will be invaluable in my training.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
