Coordination of genetics research across europe (COGENE)

Objective

Despite considerable EU support, a great majority of European research on genomics and human health is funded by national agencies. Currently, this research suffers from fragmentation and lack of co-ordination. In view of creating synergies between existing and planned EU and national genome research programmes, and in line with the concept of the European research area, a Forum of research managers in the field of genomes research was recently created. The objective of this proposal is to provide support for the Forum: to establish a website serving as an interface and discussion platform between national policy makers, scientists, enterprises and citizens from all European countries, and to organise workshops. These activities are expected to result in better synergies, including better integration between national programmes and enterprises, improved communication networks and better public understanding of genomes research across Europe

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
