European violence in psychiatry research group dissemination project

Objective

The health, safety and quality of life of staff in psychiatric wards is threatened by an increasing number of violent incidents. To address this issue the European Violence in Psychiatry Research Group proposes to conduct 8 interactive educational meetings at different centres in Europe, run 6 violence awareness workshops, conduct 2 educational outreach meetings and organise one international conference during a 30 month period. It is expected that this proposal will contribute to a reduction in the frequency of violent incidents, raise the profile of violence as a serious issue in Europe and improve the health, safety and quality of life of staff working in psychiatric hospitals.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)
