Meeting of suicide attempt monitoring researchers

Objective

Discussion and decisions about the definitions and methodology of collecting suicide attempt data. The WHO/EURO Multi-centre Study on Parasuicide consists of two projects. The monitoring project started in 1989 and has been regularly extended until now. 23 participating centres of 17 countries have already provided data that could be used for the study. Some eastern countries started later or have shown interest to participate. Wuerzburg is the Data Collaborating Centre and organizes the "Technical Meetings". These meetings coordinate the collection of data and aim to solve any definition methodological problems. An introduction in the methodology for new centres is also offered. In connection with these meetings, presentations of the latest results of the collaborative study are given.
