Effective communication and dissemination of bioscience information in europe

Objective

ECOD-BIO is a strategic initiative to improve communication on and knowledge about biosciences in Europe. This will lead to a better-educated society capable of making informed decisions about bioscience issues. ECOD-BIO will establish an active network of bioscience information practitioners bringing together first-hand experience on the effectiveness of bioscience communication strategies. These will be evaluated to create a catalogue of best practices structured by target group and topics, with such strategies being immediately put into practice in the day-to-day work of participants. ECOD-BIO will establish and constantly update a high- standard web platform with excellent bioscience information materials and links for all levels of scientific knowledge. Additionally, it will contain a novel library of bioscience graphics to be downloaded free of charge. ECOD-BIO will enthuse the younger generation for natural sciences by initiating school project competitions on biosciences.
