Objective The proposal addresses the need for rapid, sensitive, quantitative testing of mycotoxin levels in food; to meet new and forthcoming eke directives. The aim is to provide both automated and semi-automated universal mycotoxin test systems, which are 90 times faster, 3 times as sensitive, and a quarter of the price of existing systems. The objectives include: - develop a universal test system for all regulated mycotoxins in one format - develop tests with a sensitivity well below eke directive limits- provide bar coded sample security to identify and trace failed batches - combine powerful analysis, control, validation and reporting capability with simplicity, ease of control and operation through advanced information technology.
