Objective
The scope of the project is that of developing a technique to analyse the RNA of plants so as to detect the full gene expression and in particular the presence of genetically modified species in a fast and reliable fashion. The project will make use of techniques such as polymerise chain reaction and bio magnetic techniques to extract, purify, hybridise and amplify the mina of plants and assess the genetic expression. The technology will be an invaluable aid for the safe development frenetically modified technology and will allow for the prompt detection of dangerous species before they can be inserted in the food chain. The project will embark on a full-scale development of the technology that will also be validated against more established and reliable but cumbersome techniques such as DNA analysis and will compare the results of genetically modified species with those obtained for wild type plants.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
