European cell therapy in the nervous system

Objective

Ectins will find commercially viable ways to derive conditionally immortalised neural stem cells, identify their key phenotype features, patterns of gene expression and biological activities that predict in vivo efficacy. We shall demonstrate clinical potential, study dosing and cell placement through developing predictive animal models of human neurological disease states. Media formulations will be optimised for long term viability, maintain efficacious properties and minimise toxicity. We shall develop non-invasive magnetic resonance imaging methods to follow the activity of grafted cells in human stroke patients. Scientific innovation at all stages of the programme will ensure future product pipelines.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
