Objective
A robust bioprocess to produce heterogonous proteins of biopharmaceutical relevance based on the exploitation of Streptomycin lividness protein secretion is aimed. Delivery of the key scientific and technical objectives will be secured by implementing the following elements of a Project plan:
(1) Investigation and modification where required, of the specificity of the interacting target proteins and secretary machineries to improve overall secretion yield.
(2) Routing of proteins of interest to the most efficient secretion pathway, including the recently discovered twin-argentine translocation pathway.
(3) Investigation and optimisation of the fermentation conditions for recombinant proteins of interest.
(4) Interrogation of the physiological basis of growth and productivity of heterogonous proteins within fermentation systems by DNA arrays.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
