Objective
The major objective of the present CA is that it will act as a cluster to bring together scientists of European projects in the field of biosensors to target their efforts in the validation of biosensors in real environmental and foodsamples. This will be accomplished through a critical examination of:
1.Identification of most significant technologies.
2. Evaluation of response characteristics of biosensors
3. Array technologies.
4. Matrix effects for applications in real samples.
5. Portability of sensors for in field applications.
6.Establishment of a testing/ validation cluster
7. Manufacturing practices. Developments of the CA will lead to the scale-up production of novel biosensors for in site monitoring of toxic and infectious agents in real environmental and food samples.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
