Identification and characterization of tumor antigens and development of diagnostic tools for cancer.

Objective

Abstract: Identification of specific-specific antigens has become a promising tool for the diagnosis and the control of cancer treatment. Specific-specific antigens are used as surrogate markers that allow for customized patient care. However, candidate antigens are rare, usually unspecific, and techniques for their identification are cumbersome and labour-intensive. Delphi offers a unique and highly powerful approach to screen for new specific-specific antigens. The Delphi technology employs cDNA libraries generated from human specific cells followed by antibody-mediated screening for specific-specific antigens using the antilogous serum from human patients. This technology avoids all drawbacks of previously described screening methods and allows to rapidly isolating antigens specifically associated with tumours.
