Outil d'aide au choix de confinement de déchets toxiques et association d'un modèle de fiabilité

Objective

The protection of the environment tends to be one of the major challenges to betaken up by any country. The need of a performing, reliable and safe assessment of chemical solid wastes is enough to consent to invest considerable scientific efforts and resources in solving the waste management problems. This proposal concerns the development of a new methodology for the performance and the reliability assessment of chemical waste confining materials under the frame of a more classical approach. This assessment is based on the study of the ageing processes of waste package materials in their natural host medium, the definition of potential situations regarding the sequence of chemical processesoccuring in the repository and the evaluation of their consequences in terms of reliability assessment using a risk analysis like calculation procedure, that means uncertainly and sensitivity analysis. Then, long term predictions of the durability of waste packages will be conducted.
