Objective
Proposed project will improve possibilities using ammonia as refrigerant in small refrigeration plants (cooling capacities below 75 kW). Phase out of HFC and (H) CFC's, according to the Kyoto protocol (1997) in European world wide, leads to a search for alternative refrigerants. Ammonia could be such an alternative, because it neither contributes to the Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) nor to the Global Wimbling Potential (GWP). SME project partners Dresden Kühlanlagenbau, Compact and Silk Borg Varmepumpe go Koeleindustri, which are installers of small refrigeration plants, and therefore have close contact to this market. Want to be on the forefront of this process and therefore together with Red's demonstrate that ammonia is applicable in small refrigeration plants. Proposed project will give the She's the ability to design, manufacture, install and run small ammonia refrigeration plants, and thereby keep their market shares and secure the conditions on which the She's arebased. A number of prototypes for different applications will be installed in the market demonstrating that a co-operation of She's and Red's can give She's new markets shares and prepare them for the future with natural refrigerants.
