Objective
The purpose of this project is to reduce harmful emissions from diesel powered vehicles and utilise set-aside farming land, The project concerns the formulation of environmentally adapted diesel fuels in the form of a micro emulsion, where a part of the ordinary fossil diesel fuel is replaced with fuel from renewable resources (e.g. bio-alcohol). These fuels are expected to render lower Knox, carbon, monoxide, hydrocarbons and particulate emissions; induce lubrication properties; and lower the net carbon dioxide charge to the atmosphere. The micro emulsions will be tested with respect too physical and engine performance, which will form the criteria for father evaluation (e.g. eco-, tux- and techno-economical) and thus constitute the milestones in the project. The project will provide the scientific and technological basis for the formulation of diesel-bio fuel micro emulsions for further exploitation by the industrial contractor.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
