Objective
This research proposal will assist integration of the first 'wave' of ceec's rural areas into the eu by:
1) identifying optimum rural development measures and supporting institutional structures and drawing policy recommendations for the ceec that reflect their specific conditions.
2) identifying key factors shaping farm diversification in ceec rural areas development purposes.
3) developing a simulation model for the ceec that allows estimation of the impact of alternative policy scenarios on production, consumption, net trade, income and budgets costs.
4) enhancing co-operation between eu and ceec researchers and transfer of know-how to the ceec. In the first 2 years research will be conducted on areas a-c. The final year will be used to integrate results by country ant do draw conclusions for the cap and the eu rural development policy.
