Processing strategies for farm livestock manures to maximum nutrient use with minimum environmental problems - water/soil/air pollution - disease risks - odour

Objective

This project will produce a comprehensive reference book on the current and new management techniques for wastes from livestock farming (i.e. manures, effluents and solids). It will analyse the role of treatment packages available, especially were they can help achieve pollution abatement and/or the minimizing of disease risks to both livestock and the general public. The project will promote good technology transfer of existing and new techniques (being developed under national and European-wide research programmes) to the end users throughout the EU - farmers, local authorities and advisors alike. A website and an open seminar are planned, to further promote the key findings of this collaboration. The project draws on a wide range of expertise (27+ partners) grouped into three themes - (1) management of agricultural wastes in Europe, (2) treatment techniques and (3) measures for reducing related disease risks.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: https://op.europa.eu/en/web/eu-vocabularies/euroscivoc.
