Objective
In the European Union is produced the great majority of the worldwide cork production, mainly in Portugal (50%) and Spain (30%). As consequence of the production processes, are generated a big amount of cork residues that can note used. Those wastes are suitable to be used as raw material for another products as: I. Cork wastes from cork manufacture recycling. Isolation panels in buildings of recycled cork and polymer based composites as new product with new qualities for the construction sectors. Light concrete using cork aggregate for special uses. The aim of this proposal consists in the characteristic cork waste identification to determine if it can be used in the purposes aforementioned. These products would be used as construction materials, improving the existents in price and performance.
