Objective
Aim of the intended research project (VI.PLAN) is the development of a new Planning and Decision Support Methodology associating Information technology tools (DSS, Expert System, Remote Sensing technology, GIS) with Vineyard Cultivation analysis expertise. VI.PLAN addresses the planning and production needs of the European Viticulture Farming Industry, affected by major economic turmoil because of the strong competitive pressure from overseas Wine Producers. VI. PLAN target is to implement the new managing system in at least 10 selected pilot areas. Aim of the proposes is to address 3 major needs in viticulture field: 1. The optimal collocation of a grasp variety. The optimal vineyard management. The vineyard quality improvement process
