Objective
In EU, the use of antibiotic growth promoters (AGP) in animal nutrition came under discussion due to cross-resistances. One of the most prospective alternatives forage's is a photogenic feed additive like herbs, spices and essential oils. With this CRAFT-project, the goal is to establish an innovative photogenic product line for pig production for a complete replacement of Gap's without any economical loss. The objective is to define, analyse and test herbal combinations to develop new product line for sows, piglets and fattening pigs. This innovative approach will provide several benefits in relation with health and nutrition: Achieving the same results as Gap's in production Para; No cross-resistances and resistances of animals against therapeutic antibiotics Better digestibility, reduced environment ional burden of animal production Reduction of soil pollution with antibiotics and not digested minerals (phosphorous); less ammonia in stall and slurry
