Characterization of viral and cellular components involved in the oncolytic activity of parvovirus minute virus of mice

Objective

I expect to become acquainted with new methodologies and concepts in the field of molecular oncology and anticancer gene therapy. I shall conduct the project independently, while collaborating with experienced scientists both in the host group and in other laboratories at the DKFZ. The international collaborations established by the host laboratory will also bring me into contact with other European Institutions and facilitate my integration into the scientific community, which is essential for my future career. The proposed project will provide the host laboratory with novel insights into the cellular determinants of the oncolytic activity of parvoviruses and contribute in this way to its current attempts at developing new tools (recombinant vectors) for anticancer treatments. My experience in the field of molecular pharmacology is a valuable asset which should help me to unravel the cellular pathways involved in the cytopathic NS1 function.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
