Objective
This Concerted Action will bring together a range of experts in forest pathology, forest ecology, modelling of forest systems, and forest managers to prepare prototype decision-support tool for determining losses to Heterobasidioninfection and decay in the range of forest types found in Europe. The Action will establish the output requirements of the end-users, collate the biological and management inputs required and construct a prototype simulation model, concentrating on adaptability and user-friendliness. The Action is perceived as a data collating and basic model construction prelude to development of a full model and extensive field-testing under a future research programme.
