Objective
The proposed project is to organise an international and multidisciplinary scientific conference on grain legumes in the geographic centre of Europe, Krakow in Poland, under the title: 'Towards the sustainable production of healthy food, feed and novel products'. The combination of plenary and workshop sessions of the Conference will allow attendants to acquire both an up- dated overall picture in the major areas as well as an advanced view in selected scientific and technical issues relating to grain legumes. The Organising Committees will ensure the high standard in the scientific content and the logistics. The permanent Executive Secretariat, which is in charge of the coordination of the on-going thematic network LINK (FAIR CT98- 3923), will ensure the communication and the following-up of the outputs. It will facilitate the future collaborations among the scientific community and the private partners for an enhanced production and utilisation of grain legumes to contribute to a sustainable agriculture and to safe and healthy protein-rich products for feed and food industry.
