Optimal wheat cultivation, harvesting, storing and drying through process simulation implementing net energy balance for economic competitiveness and environmental sustainability

Objective

Minimising costs and increasing productivity at every level of the agricultural production process through alternative production methods and extra income through additional product possibilities have become the main approaches to try and deal with the threats faced by agriculture. An important problem which agriculture faces is how to decide upon the best steps, products and component technologies in production chains (e.g. wheat production) in order to optimise these processes in terms of cost, quality and the environment. In such production chains there are a great deal of opportunities for saving costs. The two SMEproposers see in present agricultural problems an opportunity to combine their individual specific technological and technical expertise with other future partners to offer European and also world agriculture: "An agricultural production simulation decision system" which will enable the optimisation of agricultural production, in terms of: Costs; Quality; Environmental impact; and Energy used and produced. The system will be applied before and as an accompaniment to wheat production.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
