Potentiation of plant defense responses during biocontrol bacteria-mediated induced systemic resistance in arabidopsis.

Objective

Plants develop an induced systemic resistance (ISR) against pathogen attack after colonisation of the roots by selected strains of naturally occurring bio control bacteria. ISR-expressing plants are sensitised to express extant defence responses at a higher level upon pathogen attack. The role of this phenomenon in the expression of ISR will be investigated.
