Development of structurally detailed statistically testable models of marine populations

Objective

OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
This project will investigate the costs and benefits of rising models that provide a detailed description of marine, ecological processes, using tools and example data acts developed for this purpose. The approach will be to construct models which are empirically justifiable in that they contain an amount of detail in their structure which is appropriate to the data which are available. This appropriateness will be evaluated using formal statistical tests. By doing this, it is intended to develop fisheries science as far as the information will support such development, but strictly no further.

These developments will principally be in the area of modeling the effects on populations of spatial variation in growth and of predator, and These effects are nut normally included in models of fish stocks, presently used for management purposes, and their importance for this purpose is or known.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
